I’ve Got a Golden Ticket! – 7 Ways to Boost Trade Show Traffic with OccasionOgraphy®

Attending the first tradeshow is a huge milestone for new OccasionOgraphy® consultants. Weather you are at a bridal show or a Chamber of Commerce event, mixers and tradeshows are ideal venues for meeting new prospects... and turning them into clients – sometimes right on the spot!  In fact, many consultants actively seek out these opportunities because of the huge “buzz” personalized candy wrappers inevitably create.

As you are busy preparing product samples and getting your travel plans nailed down, take a moment to think about how you can increase traffic to your booth and get maximum exposure for your business. Here are seven tips to help you maximize your trade show success.

1.    Work with your venue. Many trade show associations and bridal shows include support and advertising as part of your booth rental. So when your paperwork arrives, make sure you read every little piece of it. Ask them how you can maximize your media coverage. Fill out your biographical sketch, or any surveys they give you. See if they are providing any games to help drive traffic to your booth. For instance, my Chamber of Commerce passes out bingo cards based on the booth numbers with a fabulous prize at the end. Take advantage of these opportunities, you are paying for them whether you use them or not!

2.    Pretend you are Willie Wonka. “We are the music makers, and we are the dreamers of dreams…” Let’s face it, we all have a mad candy-maker in us waiting to get out! This is your big opportunity. Raffles and contests are trade show staples, with good reason. People love to win! And—people love personalized wrappers. Combine these two elements and you literally have the ticket for success. So go ahead! Include a “golden ticket” raffle in some of the bars you hand out during the show. A coupon for 50 free personalized bars or 10% off your price for SplashBands™ would do the trick. While you are playing Willie Wonka, however, you must…

3.    Collect contact information. We’ve all been there. You have a great conversation with a bride-to-be, she wants to use MyMintos™ personalized matchbook mint covers as her place cars and personalized candy wrappers for her wedding favors. You give her your card… and you never hear from her again. Does this sound familiar to any one else? There’s an easy way to overcome this hurdle, just have a small form in your booth to use as a raffle ticket, asking for, at a minimum, their name, telephone number and email address. For people who are ready to buy, have your price card and contract ready to go at the trade show. Be ready to take a deposit. Your bride-to-be will be so relieved to have a few of her to do list items checked off, and you will have the privilege of serving a new client.

Stay tuned for the final four tips, and feel free to send us any ideas or creative uses for OccasionOgraphy® personalized wrappers you or your customers have come up with!
