How Chocolate Can Cure Those Cubicle Blues

A fair number of our consultants have used their OccasionOgraphy® business to help them break free of conventional “office life.” So many people are dissatisfied with their careers, but it trying to break away can be daunting.  If you find your self chained to a cubicle all day and yearning for freedom, flexibility, and unlimited earning power, here are ten reasons to consider trading in that desk to become an OccasionOgraphy® consultant.  You can even get started part-time, "on the side" so to speak. The first five reasons relate to just about any entrepreneurial venture, while the last five are part of the OccasionOgraphy® experience!

1.    Be your own boss. Taking charge of your own life, for your own success in home based business gives you a freedom unlike any other. It is a big responsibility, but the rewards are massive.
2.    Never miss another field trip or soccer game. Because you are your own boss, you set your schedule. That means that your childrens’ school events and sports activities can be reprioritized and become part of your regular schedule.
3.    Take vacations. Did you know that most employees don’t take the vacation they are entitled to? Whether it is the good old Puritan work ethic or that people just have too much to do, people don’t take the time off they need to rest and recharge. When you are the boss, you get to take those impromptu vacations or take your work with you on the road for an extended cross country trip.
4.    Set your own work environment. Whether you like your work to be fast paced and energetic or more calm and centered, you write the rules here! Your office can be a bench in the park while your kids play, or even the corner table of your favorite coffee shop. Can you listen to your iPod or get an iced coffee in your cubicle? Didn’t think so!
5.    Set an example of entrepreneurship for your kids. This is a big one for me. The more our kids can see us running our own businesses, the more likely it is that they will grow up to be entrepreneurs themselves. Show them how to go out and make it happen!  You might even just find a business to involve them in…


6.    Sell products you love.
